I think that my childhood years, spent largely in the hospital and then feeling very much as an outsider in my family’s world, are a big part of what causes me to seek adventure and to love travel. Despite two prosthetic legs and the world telling me that I shouldn’t be able to do certain things, I do my best not to let anything stop me.
This helicopter tour in Alaska was more than just a random trip though. Back in the day, my father worked with one of the companies that helped build the road to Alaska, and he always wanted to go back. He never got a chance to go back, but a part of him went with me.
